Event Information:
Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy’s RUN FOR OUR SONS Team will be participating at the 2009 WALT DISNEY WORLD Marathon in January. The RUN FOR OUR SONS team is a group of parents, grandparents, families and friends who will proudly run the 26.2 mile WALT DISNEY WORLD Marathon to help raise funds and awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a devastating, progressive muscle disorder which slowly robs those diagnosed of their independence and eventually their life. This year the RUN FOR OUR SONS Team will represent thousands of young men diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy in Orlando, Florida. We currently have slots open for the Half, Full and Goofy Challenge (both Half and Full) races.
Course Description:
The course consists of: Starting at Epcot, running through Magic Kingdom, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney's MGM Studios and then back at Epcot.
Location and Facilities:
Walt Disney World, Orlando Florida Room blocks are at Caribbean Beach Resort
Distances:
Full Marathon - 26 miles
Classes, Costs, and Awards:
$1200 minimum fundraising goal.
