Rally to support the Obama Stimulus!

(Please forward this message on to anyone who might be interested.) Lets support President Elect Obama's first item on OUR agenda and give him the momentum he needs to get to work on even harder issues that are coming up! On Wednesday, President Elect Obama (saying that still gives me tingles!!!) laid out the broad strokes of his plan to kickstart the economy, and he needs our help. Just as we helped him make it into the White House, we need to make sure our Senators know how important this piece of legislation is to us. Please meet us in front of Ben Nelson's Omaha office this coming Wednesday, January 14th. We'll be there from around 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, but we'd like the most people to show up before 5:00 pm if possible, as we want Ben Nelson's staff to see us out there before they leave for the day at 5:30pm. This is not a rally against Nelson, this is just to make sure he knows how much we REALLY want this bill to sail through. As Obama said all through his campaign, this movement is about us. CHANGE needs to come from the bottom up, and this is our first chance to prove that he was right to trust in us to support him when the time came. Well, the time is here, the issue is our very livelihoods... its time to put our money where our mouths have been through that hard fought campaign! I'll be able to scrounge up and make a few myself, but we will need some homemade signs that say something about the stimulus, like "Support the Obama Stimulus!", some pro-Nelson signs and/or something to that effect. We could also use any Obama or Nelson signs people may have at home, and if you have any other gear (shirts, buttons, hats, stickers, etc) you could wear, lend or give away, please bring it so everybody can be decked out.
