Description
Last July, Missa Rosin was a crazy, hardworking, independent, fun-loving 20-something chick. On July 16, an innocent motorcycle ride changed all of that. They (Missa and friend Dave) met up with some friends at a local bike night, planning to take advantage of the beautiful weather. Around 9 or so they decided to take a long relaxing ride on Highway 183, spanning from Crescent, IA to Missouri Valley. Everything was going awesome when the unthinkable happened: a deer ran out from a ditch. The first bike barely missed it. Luckily for the first bike they did miss it, for neither one had helmets on. And unluckily for Missa and Dave, they impacted that deer going 55mph. If hitting the deer and grinding skin across pavement wasn’t enough, Missa got ran over by her good friend on his bike. They waited on the side of the highway for 45 minutes for the ambulance. For some reason, whether it was sliding across the highway or getting ran over, Missa got it worst out of the 4 people involved. Needless to say she’s covered in scars now. Both drivers had insurance, but the insurance company for the driver of the bike she was on claimed it was an Act of God/nature, said the driver wasn’t at fault, and paid her a small cash settlement. She’s worked at Clarkson Hospital in food service for almost 4 years, where she had awesome benefits, made great money, and paid for school. When the accident happened, she had to take medical leave and eventually lost her job. For a 70+ hours a week workaholic, that was horrible. Shortly before that she lost her place of residence and has been living off the kindness of others ever since. She no longer requires round-the-clock care, but she does need a lot of help due to recent surgeries. Everything has been tough on this poor girl, but at least she’s alive! She’s got an incredibly long hard road ahead of her and she needs your help!
