Description
The Oklahoma City Zoo Amphitheatre first opened its doors to the public in 1936, and was created primarily to provide jobs during the Depression. It underwent exntensive renovations in the late 70s, and now stands as the number one outdoor venue for live entertainment in Oklahoma City.
While dance programs, theatre performances and community meetings and events are all accommodated at the venue, The Oklahoma City Zoo Amphitheatre is perhaps best known for its first class concert series - a particular highlight on the annual schedule, and one which brings many big names to the popular outdoor venue. Sheryl Crow, Journey, James Blunt, Stone Temple Pilots, Alison Krauss, Sugarland, Bob Dylan, Tim McGraw, and Kid Rock are just a few of those featured on the Oklahoma City Zoo Amphitheatre schedule in the past.
