Art After Dark

Join your friends for a cocktail at Oceanside Museum of Art’s new hip social scene, “Art After Dark.” On Friday, January 30th from 7:00-10:00 p.m. you can view two stimulating art exhibitions, Lowbrow Art: Nine San Diego Pop Surrealists and Quilt Visions 2008: Contemporary Expressions and groove to the funky beats of DJ Danny Massure all in the modern setting of this Orchid Award winning museum. Experience the premiers of two video installations by Robert Twomey in the Groves Gallery and Peter Schwartz on the façade of the museum. Admission to “Art After Dark” is $15, or $10 for OMA members and includes complimentary sushi from Harney Sushi, beer from Stone Brewing Co. and specialty wines.
Visitors can also participate in hands on art making with Harry Hamernik, author of “Face Off, How to Draw Amazing Caricatures and Cartoon Portraits,” and OMA School of Art Instructor. Harry will be teaching mini drawing workshops that evoke the pop surrealism style.
