      EVENT DETAILS
      Bursting the Blues

Shake off the winter blues with a scrumptious dinner, silent auction, unique “balloon pop,” and music at CONTACT Care Line's annual Bursting the Blues Gala.  And, while we enjoy a fun evening and say “farewell winter blues,” we’ll raise money to support those most at risk in our community at the time they most need our support.   We believe that during difficult times, everyone deserves someone who will really listen.  Join us as we transform crisis to hope. And, have some fun in the process!   FAQs  What's the dress for the evening? We call it business casual. But, some folks like to come in cocktail attire, others go very casual. Mostly, just dress to have some fun! What's the menu for dinner? Spinach Salad with Strawberries, Bleu Cheese, and Candied Pecans Spinach Maria Risotto with Mushrooms and Tomatoes Steamed Vegetable Medley Baked Chicken Almandine Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Granny Smith Apples and Calvados Sauce Hot Yeast Rolls Decadent Chocolate Cake and New York Style Cheesecake Freshly Brewed Coffee, Decafe, Iced Tea, Water Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? No age restriction; but Bursting the Blues is planned as an adult event.  No children's activities are available.  There is a cash bar.  So, bring your ID along if you’d like to enjoy refreshments at the bar. What can/can't I bring to the event? Bring yourself and a readiness to have a good time!  If you’d like to participate in the silent auction or “balloon pop” make sure you bring cash, check, or credit card!   Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? You can contact us via private message on our Facebook at:  https://www.facebook.com/ContactListens.  Or, you can call us at 865-312-7450.  Leave a voicemail if there’s no answer.  We’re often busy on the Crisis Line.     Is my registration/ticket transferrable?  Yes   Can I update my registration information? Yes   Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Please bring your ticket to speed up the process at the door.  If you forget, don’t stress, we’ll make sure you get in if you give your name and address at the registration table as you enter the event.     What is the refund policy? It’s a charity event to support folks who need someone to listen, someone to care.  And, we know that you’d rather have your payment going to our good cause.  :-)      The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay? It’s absolutely OK.  More Information:  Contrary to popular myth, suicide rates are highest in spring and are lowest in winter. This trend is constant since studies dating back into the early 1800’s. Researchers are uncertain as to the cause. What we do know is that Tennessee lost 938 people to suicide in the past year, according to the latest CDC data.  To reduce these deaths, CONTACT has joined more than 160 crisis centers across the country to form the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.  CONTACT is the only Lifeline call center in our area. Funds raised will go entirely to support CONTACT Care Line’s telephone crisis line and the reassurance program for senior citizens.
