In multiple locations across the country from September to November, the Uhuru Solidarity Movement is holding fundraising and political events called "A Day in Solidarity with African People."
With the theme "Beyond Obama: Seeking real solutions to the growing racial divide in the US," the Oakland event will be on Sunday, September 19th featuring Omali Yeshitela, leader and founder of the Uhuru Movement, Glen Ford of the Black Agenda Report, Penny Hess of the African People's Solidarity Committee and more.
A Day in Solidarity with African People is a tribute from the white community to the liberation struggle of African people. It is a benefit for the campaigns, programs and institutions of the Uhuru Movement and it is a call for white people to join in solidarity with the total liberation of Africa and African people worldwide. It calls for unity with African peopleâs right to control all their resources, their lives and destiny, and to actively oppose the U.S. colonial war against African people right here.
