Petland Boycott Rally - Novi

We plan to rally from 4:00 - 7:00PM. This is Valentines Day weekend. We know that many guys think a puppy is a super cool romantic gift for their girlfriend. Let's make sure we stop any of these bad ideas from happening. The rally will be in front of Denny's, Red Lobster and Comerica Bank at the main entrance to Twelve Oaks Mall. This is a busy road, please do not bring your dogs. Click here for location details If someone stops and reports they have purchased a sick dog: 1) Get their contact information. 2) Ask them to contact Animal Control. 3) Ask them to contact the Better Business Bureau. 4) The HSUS is also collecting reports of sick dogs. Find the online complaint form http://www.humanesociety.org/forms/tell_us_your_puppy_mill_story.html 5) PetShopPuppies.org can help research breeder information and also collects reports of sick dogs. 6) You may want to suggest they find a different vet if they are using the Petland's referral. Other Supplies: We also have plenty of fliers. General Reminders: 1) Do not go into the store, before, during or after the rally. If you choose to protest, you can no longer go into the store to check anything out on any day. 2) Don't walk or park in the mall lot. We have to stay on public property. 3) Don't get too close to the entrance. If people stop, make sure they pull around to the Denny's lot where we will have more information. We can't block traffic. 4) Return shared signs to the rally lead. 5) If you are new, you do not need to speak to the public. If someone asks you questions at the exit, tell them to pull around so they do not block traffic. Most often, they do not, so try to at least had them a flyer. 6) If it looks like rain/snow, find some clear plastic bags for your sign. I use clear drop cloth. Thank you in advance for joining us.
