'Mandala" is a Sanskrit word meaning circle and is a powerful tool for revealing the inner being. As you open up your creative channels, you will complete a colorful personal Mandala as a symbol to begin a process of learning, growing, healing, and exploring your artistic talent. Experienced or not, all are welcome. When you open to your center (your heart), creativity happens naturally.

In this 'Introduction to the Mandala' class, we will explore the history of the Mandala, show a DVD of art and historical images, experience a color meditation and participate in the making of your own Mandala with black paper and colored pencils. This class will prepare you for a possible painting class at a future date with more complicated designs, using acrylic paint on canvas.

Judith Bloch, B.A. Fine Art, has been painting Mandalas in different forms for 12 years and will be you facilitator, sharing techniques and historical perspective on the Mandala from both the East and the West.
