Try a New YearÂÂ's Eve Alternative ÂÂ- FIRST NIGHT Haddonfield, NJ

Tired of the New YearÂÂ's scene of paying extra for the same meal and sitting close to boorish people or is that just your own reflection in a mirror; then yelling ÂÂ"Happy New Year!ÂÂ" surrounded by a bunch of strangers? -OR- Just staying home and wondering what all the fuss is about? Try the non-alcoholic alternative and attend a First Night Celebration in towns across New Jersey and America and maybe even the World. Although the number of towns in New Jersey is sparse this year, you can choose from Chatham, Morristown, Monclair, Ocean City, Seaside Park and Burlington. Just use your favorite search engine to get more information. IÂÂ'm scheduling and going to Haddonfield, NJ because the performance schedule is full with singers, performers and musical acts that I like. Haddonfield is South of Cherry Hill but I have some friends in that area that may want to spend a few hours absorbing some culture and having some fun. We normally meet after 5:00pm at a local restaurant for a snack and go over all the performers for the evening in the booklet one gets with each button's purchase. We can make a tentative schedule for the evening but may change it if the line to one performace it too long or we see something better. People buy a button for around $12.00 that gives us admission to the buildings or other activities. At midnight, there can be fireworks. On the way home, I like to stop at a Diner and get a slice of pie and hot tea and talk about the future.
