Garden in the Woods

Let's take a walk at the Garden in the Woods! I haven't been here yet, but it looks wonderful! The park offers beautiful wildflower gardens filled with native flowers and plants. According to the website, there is a scavenger hunt the kids can follow to find plants and animals throughout the park. From their website: The gardens and habitats at Garden in the Woods offer wonderful experiences for the whole family to explore. Native plants are an exciting alternative to the annuals and cut flower arrangements many children see in and around their homes. The simple beauty of the Garden at different times of the day and in various seasons is very calming. Just sitting on a bench in the middle of the Garden, reading a book, is very enjoyable. Read more... Although we'll be moving from place to place as a group, I will try to focus on photographing each family individually. Overall, we'll probably spend one to two hours walking around the park, depending on how the kiddos are doing. Feel free to leave at any time if your little one has had enough! If you have small children, I recommend bringing a durable stroller since we will be doing a fair amount of walking, some of it on dirt paths which may be hilly. Also, don't forget to bring (non-messy) snacks and drinks so no one gets hungry! :) The session fee for this event is $25 per family. The session fee covers your entire immediate family (parents and children). You do not need to pay an additional fee if you have more than one child. Extended family (grandparents, cousins, etc.) are not included, however. The session fee covers my time photographing the session as well as processing, retouching, and enhancing the images afterwards. You will view a minimum of 15 proofs from this session in a private online gallery. Prints, digital images, and other keepsakes are sold separately. Admission to the park is not included. 2010 Fees for admission to Garden in the Woods Adults $8; Seniors (65+) $6; Youths (3-18) $4; Students (with student ID) $6; Children under 3 Free. Weather Policy: In case of rain or inclement weather, I will try to reschedule the event for the closest available date. I will check in a couple days before the event to check the weather and give you a heads up. We may wait until the night before or morning of the event to make the final call about whether the event is cancelled/rescheduled due to rain. If the event is rescheduled and the new date/time does not work for you, I will refund your session fee.
