You've asked for it and now is your chance to use Scrum! We will combine a Scrum Exercise with helping out a local charity - supporting soldiers through a local Military Affinity Group! The idea behind Agile is to deliver faster and more frequently. Using the Scrum Framework, the work to be completed will be identified in the Product Backlog, then work will be identified that can be completed in a pre-determined time period called a Sprint. In our meeting, we will simulate a Sprint (which is usually 2-4 weeks) in the time frame of an hour. The idea is to have a potentially shippable product increment at the end of the Sprint. So, by the end of our meeting, we will have a tangible output to contribute to a charity! Food and drinks will be provided compliments of Tek Systems. We will start at 6:00 sharp! The first 5 minutes will be set aside for welcoming remarks, introduction and thank you to our sponsors, including a few minutes for Tek System announcements. The next 10 minutes will be an overview of the Scrum Framework and the exercise, then 15 minutes for prioritizing the work identified in the Product Backlog and planning the work for the sprint, then a 3 day Sprint simulation for the last hour. We are very excited about the combination of the Scrum Exercise and contributing to a local charity! Please invite anyone that would be interested in using Scrum or interested in supporting our soldiers!
