      2019 Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) *NEW 5th Edition*

      Two-Day Course: Wednesday, February 13 from 8:00am-4:30pm Thursday, February 14 from 8:00am-12:00pm ENPC is a course that presents a systematic assessment model, integrates the associated anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology and identifies appropriate interventions. It is written by pediatric nurse experts designed to provide the special knowledge and skills needed to care for pediatric patients in the emergency setting. Through a combination of a two-day intensive course with expert instructors, hands-on training and practice, and on-line learning, you’ll gain the core-level knowledge and skills to care for your smallest patients in the emergency care setting. The new, just-launched and completely revamped version of ENPC provides an engaging learning experience designed to enhance your ability to care for a pediatric patient. Systematic approach to initial assessment Multi-platform learning Hands-on skills stations Avatar-driven simulation experience Interactive exercises Case-scenario-based online modules Patient experience videos Electronic testing allows you test outside of classroom time Target Audience: RNs, LPNs, PAs, EMT-P. Only RNs may participate in the testing portion of this course and receive verification. Others may attend the course and receive continuing education credit.  Faculty: Presenters are ENPC instructors through the ENA who work throughout the region in Emergency Medicine. Continuing Education Contact Hours:  CE hours (15.58) are awarded to participants regardless of their performance during testing. Verification is valid for four years. The Emergency Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. The Emergency Nurses Association is approved by the California Board of Registering Nursing. Provider #2322.   Registration Information  Fee: $300 (includes the cost of the book, breakfast & snacks on both days)  Lunch will be on your own on both days. All attendees will need the ENPC Manual 5th Edition Cancellation will result in a 20% processing charge plus the cost of any materials. Course Content: Triage and Prioritization Respiratory and cardiac emergencies Shock Trauma Communicable and infectious diseases Dermatology (New topic) Child maltreatment Human trafficking (New topic) Food allergies (New topic) Crisis intervention Heat and cold emergencies Submersion Toxicology Behavioral Health Medication administration Vascular access  There will be pre-course work that is a requirement of this course. You will receive instructions on how to complete the pre-course work with your manual. After receiving payment for the course, ENPC books will be sent (approximately 2-3 weeks prior to course). You will also receive instructions on how to complete the pre-coursework. Participants are expected to read the text and complete the on-line modules prior to the live course.
