      2018 Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)

      ENPC is a 16-hour course designed to provide core-level pediatric knowledge and psychomotor skills needed to care for pediatric patients in the emergency setting. The course presents a systematic assessment model, integrates the associated anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, and identifies appropriate interventions. Triage categorization and injury prevention strategies are included in the course content. ENPC is taught using a variety of formats, including lectures, videotapes, and includes skill stations that encourage participants to integrate their psychomotor skills into a patient situation in a risk free setting. Accurate assessment of a child with acute illness or injury requires special knowledge and skills. ENPC gives nurses the tools to provide expert care for patients from birth to adolescence. Pediatric Assessment Triangle Early Intervention Family Presence Target Audience: RNs, LPNs, PAs, EMT-P. Only RNs may participate in the testing portion of this course and receive verification. Others may attend the course and receive continuing education credit.  Continuing Education Contact Hours:  CE hours (15.58) are awarded to participants regardless of their performance during testing. Verification is valid for four years. The Emergency Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. The Emergency Nurses Association is approved by the California Board of Registering Nursing. Provider #2322.   Registration Information  Fee: $280 (includes the cost of the book, breakfast & snacks on both days)       Class will meet each day from 7:30am-5:00pm.       Lunch will be on your own on both days.       All attendees will need the ENPC Manual. Cancellation will result in a 20% processing charge plus the cost of any materials. Faculty: Presenters are ENPC instructors through the ENA who work throughout the region in Emergency Medicine. Course Content:  Initial Assessment  Respiratory Emergencies  Trauma  Shock  Child Maltreatment  Prioritization  Ill and injured skills stations  The Adolescent  Rhythm Disturbances  Disaster  The Neonate  Behavioral Emergencies  Childhood Illness  Crisis  Evaluation   There will be pre-course work that is a requirement of this course. You will receive instructions on how to complete the pre-course work with your manual. After receiving payment for the course, ENPC books will be sent (approximately 2-3 weeks prior to course)
