Natural History Interpreter Training

We are currently recruiting volunteers to lead Sanctuary Walks and to staff our Program room on weekends. Volunteers will offer hands-on, inquiry based learning experiences for our Sanctuary visitors. They will spend a few hours once a week or once or twice a month talking about animal tracks, turtles, habitats, skulls, soil, plants and more. Each weekend will have a different nature-themed topic. Participants need to attend a minimum of 6 training sessions that will run for two hours each session. These sessions will cover the history of the Massachusetts Audubon Society and Stony Brook, habitats, plants, wildlife, and working with the public. Training sessions will start Monday, February 6th and run for 8 weeks, plus two mandatory weekend training days. Registration is required. Call (508) 528-3140 for details.
