High atop a hill in northern Manhattan's Fort Tryon Park, boasting spectacular views of the Hudson River, The Cloisters museum and gardens is the branch of The Metropolitan Museum of Art devoted to medieval art and architecture. Discover 5,000 outstanding works of art, including magnificent sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, stained glass, and the celebrated Unicorn Tapestries. Explore beautifully re-created plant, flower, and herb gardens of the Middle Ages. Enjoy guided tours of the collection and gardens. Relax in the delightful outdoor Trie Café (open May-October).
