SARAH & THE STANLEYS, DUSTY BROWN, & CASSIDY PERFORM AT ‘THE STOOP’ NOVEMBER 21ST

Brooklyn-based soultress-fronted ‘Sarah & The Stanleys’ to perform at The Stoop, a new Hell’s Kitchen Music Venue.

NEW YORK, New York – October 16, 2009 – The Stoop, a new music venue in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen is excited to present a night of soaring soul, R&B, and rock. Warm up this fall with Brooklyn-based favorites, Sarah Gregory and her seven-piece soul-scorching band playing live at The Stoop.

Sarah & The Stanleys will be headlining at The Stoop where they will deliver an evening of knock ‘em dead ballads and powerhouse tunes bound to make those in the crowd move their bodies. The Stanleys (Evan Gregory, Alex Foot, Doug Hulin, Spencer Cohen, Justin Keller, Eli Asher, and Andrew Gregory) are solid musicians, well-seasoned from an array of side projects. These good-looking Stanleys frame Sarah on every side of the stage, but their presence hardly overwhelms her. It simply highlights her unapologetic femininity. Their chemistry is catching.

Cassidy, a four-piece indie rock group fronted by Shana Cassidy, will kick off the evening followed by an appearance by Dusty Brown, a singer-songwriter with a loveable sense of humor and soulful sensibilities. The event will be emceed by Chris MacIntosh (a.k.a. Grandfather Rock) of WCWP Radio. Doors open at 7:30 pm., and showtime is at 8pm. While the concert is free, The Stoop will be accepting suggested donations of $12. Receive a free gift with the full suggested cover.

The Stoop venue and concert series is presented by Music Forum of Church For All Nations, Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. Music Forum of Church for All Nations is sponsoring the series and providing the venue as a contribution to the cultural and spiritual life of Hell's Kitchen.

The Stoop
www.TheStoopNY.com MISSION... Our mission is to present high quality outreach concerts in a non-threatening, safe, supportive environment where artists can share their God-given talents and engage in meaningful discussion and fellowship with the audience. WHAT DOES IT ENCOMPASS? Music Forum encompasses both Classical and informal concerts throughout the series’ season. Classical concerts include a pre-concert lecture given by the conductor/artist informing the audience of the Christian significance of the work to be performed by the orchestra, choral ensemble, or recitalist. The Stoop is an informal concert series featuring various genres such as blues, jazz, gospel, indie, pop, folk, and more in a casual, social atmosphere. Music in The Stoop music series is performed by Christians who are musicians of primarily secular music. We as an arts ministry and congregation provide quality musicians, both emerging and established artists, with opportunities to perform in an environment where the audience, artists, and congregation can fellowship. In between sets artists comfortably speak about various things including the process of songwriting from their unique, Christian perspective. The Stoop is designed to reach in a non-threatening way, not to preach aggressively. Quality music and quality relationships are key. HOW CAN YOU SERVE? You can serve the Music Forum ministry in MANY ways. To begin…PRAY! This ministry like anything needs much prayer and support. You can become a contributor, ask your company and co-workers if they could donate tax-deductible funds or supplies necessary to aid our ministry, and/or dig in by joining a Music Forum ministry team. QUESTIONS? Always feel free to contact the Music Forum Producer, Jennifer Rosa, with any booking inquiries or questions you may have regarding the development and progress of Music Forum. You may contact her by phone at (212) 333-5583 or via e-mail at musicforum@cfan.net.
