Hammerstein Ballroom
The Hammerstein Ballroom is located within the Manhattan Center Studios in New York City. Unlike other large venues, the Hammerstein Ballroom New York shares the Manhattan Center with another famous event space, The Grand. The history of the Manhattan Center Studios and the Hammerstein Ballroom New York starts in 1906 when it was constructed by Oscar Hammerstein. It was originally called the Manhattan Opera House. After a few changes in ownership, the Grand Ballroom was added to the roof of the existing opera house. Today, the original part of the theatre is called the Hammerstein Ballroom. The Hammerstein Ballroom is particularly unique because it is a two-tiered venue that has an adjustable capacity that is dependent on the configuration of the production. The Hammerstein Ballroom New York is additionally known for its elegance and impeccable acoustical design.
Due to the on-premise television & recording studios, post-production suites and optional production services, it becomes no surprise why the Hammerstein Ballroom schedule of events is filled with astonishing performances and extraordinary special events. The Hammerstein Ballroom schedule has hosted a variety of Grammy Award-winning recordings and Oscar-winning compositions.
