Real Live People Party will be one of several group getting access to LPR before most of the general public knows the club is opening.

With venues closing down left and right, it's nice to see some opening as well -- especially in Manhattan where most are getting priced out. "(Le) Poisson Rouge is "an 800-capacity multimedia art cabaret founded by musicians on the site of the historic Village Gate." For a special night, they've even got two VIP opera boxes, with their own private entrance. Oooh la la.
Once open to the public, their calendar will boast concerts, dance and theater performances, film screenings, special events and late-night programming in what they call a "flexible main space." An adjoining lounge will also be open during the day as a café, and at night as bar.

Scheduled for a public opening in September, concert and performance space Le Poisson Rouge is currently booking private events from through the end of August. The Walter Storyk Design Group—the same company that worked on the design for Jazz at Lincoln Center—has updated the acoustics in the venue (formerly the Village Gate Theater), a site that also features a 130-person soundproof bar and lounge, two stages, a hardwood sprung dance floor, two screens with surround sound, and a full catering kitchen.
