You hole up in the woodshed like you kissed the preacher's wife. But you're not in hiding. You're practicing. Practicing 'til your fingers ghost keys in your sleep. 'Til the neighbors stop hollering, seduced-at last-by the sound. When pianist Marcus "The J-Master" Roberts emerged from deep in the shed more than a decade ago, he produced an album of the same name which the NY Times hailed as "the most important jazz album of the last 10 years."
