La Excelencia
In 2001 José Vázquez-Cofresi & Julián Silva organized "La Excelencia, an orchestra with the "Salsa Dura (Hardcore Salsa)" sound. In 2006 "La Excelencia" began to record 10 track "original" CD showcasing vast styles of “Salsa Dura (Hardcore Salsa)" and "Guaguanco". Edwin Perez & Rene Leslie are the two-featured vocalist that add their vocal talents to the CD. Edwin Perez sings the single "La Lucha", a song about every day struggles in the barrio, which also features "Shanny". Julian Silva brings an urban, aggressive feel to each arrangement yet not losing the true essence...Links
