Hailed by the New York Times as "a tenor saxophonist with an enigmatic, elegant and hard-driving style," JD Allen is one of the most thoughtful jazz saxophonists on the scene today.
The Detroit native's apprenticeship has largely been in New York, where he has performed, recorded, and toured with legends Lester Bowie, Betty Carter, Ron Carter, Jack DeJohnette among others
JD Allen will be performing live at J&R Music Worldon Saturday, May 24th. A live WBGO remote broadcast will begin at 2pm and Allen's performance will start at 4pm.
