Event details: Ingrid Lucia
Description
âNew Orleans Times Picayune
Ingrid Lucia was raised performing in the streets of New Orleans with her familyâs traditional jazz band. They traveled the world together, from the circuses of Mexico, to streets of Paris. A book written 2007 by New Yorker Magazine's Alec Wilkinson about the family band's adventures entitled "The Happiest Man in the World" has drawn rave reviews from the Ny Times and the Los Angeles times. A documentary that is currently touring the international Festival circuit about the Family band entitled "Random Lunacy" has also drawn rave reviews. As a young adult she started her own band, The Flying Neutrinos, incorporating original material drawn from her roots, and adding new talent from NYC and New Orleans. Her influences were musicians from New Orleans, American popular music from the 30âs-50âs, and old movies.
Ingrid Lucia has been honored with the distinction of being the face and voice of New Orleans National advertising campaign "Do They Play Jazz in Heaven". Some of her other recent career highlights include being chosen as one of Diet Pepsi's 2007 "Lovely Ladies of Jazz" and being featured vocally in films such as "Fido" , "Blast from the Past", and T.V.'s "Sex and the City".
