Holly Cole imbues eclectic standards and songs with an uncanny combination of sensuality, innocence, originality and sheer musicality. She has been staking her own substantive claim to this timeless repertoire for the past thirteen years and has charted an career that has included six domestic gold and platinum albums (Canada) and one international gold album (Japan) featuring some of the most engaging vocal work in the world of contemporary pop and jazz. On stage, as anyone who has witnessed one of Cole's captivating, mercurial performances can testify, she's completely in her element. Holly has just put the finishing touches on her new album "Shade," based on jazz standards with a loose summer theme, marking a return to form from an artist that has truly defined jazz vocals to the popular music lover.
