NEW YORK -- ANU ANNAM's internationally acclaimed portrait paintings will be presented by Harrice Miller Entertainment and Jiva Performing Arts on SUNDAY NOVEMBER 15, 2009 . The exhibition will be at BARUCH PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, BARUCH COLLEGE, East 25th Street between Lexington and Third Avenues, New York, NY 10010, from 4:00-7:00pm, preceding the carnatic Indian classical music concert performed by CHITRAVINA RAVIKIRAN, in his only chitravina concert in NYC this year.
ANU ANNAM's semi-abstract and impressionistic paintings have been described by the eminent Dr. C. Narayan Reddy, Padma Bhushan, high poet of India, as "Vedantic", a word coined specifically for her artwork and "incomparable" as in the translation of ANUPAMA, her full name.
THE HINDU, INDIA exalted ANU's watercolors stating that through her painting"...you can rediscover the magic of watercolours that used to thrill the old masters...".
CANVAS MAGAZINE, NEW YORK, where ANU was one of the featured artists in 2009, heralds her rare talent for capturing the essence of her subject. "Anu Annam expresses a deep appreciation for human personality and emotion through her watercolor portraiture."
ANU has exhibited in solo and group shows nationally and internationally, notably a solo exhibition at Shrishti Art Gallery in India and a group exhibition at the National Art Gallery in Bangladesh. Her work is in major collections including the Italian Senate and the Papal Knight, Gary Krupp of Pave the Way Foundation
The artist will be present at the exhibition and paintings and limited edition giclees (fine art prints) will be offered for sale.
