Event details: Brazilian Nights with Rosa Passos
Description
You walk like a samba. You swing so cool. You sway so gently. And when you pass, well, you know.... Sony Classical/Odyssey recording artist and singer-songwriter Rosa Passos, known in her native Brazil as "the João Gilberto of skirts," has American audiences giving their hearts gladly to her "light-gauge voice, her precise pitch, her mastery of bossa nova rhythm" (NY Times). Come be seduced for two quiet nights under The Allen Room's quiet stars in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the bossa nova with a singer who's "done what so many vocalists have attempted since the days of Astrud Gilberto, but failed to do: [make] the bossa nova sexy again" (All About Jazz). Jazz at Lincoln Center 2007-08 Subscriptions on sale now at www.jalc.org. Single Tickets go on sale September 10, 2007.
