Event details: A Taste of the BIG APPLE
Description
The NYC Department of Education would like to invite all NYC Parents and Families to join us for a “Taste of the Big Apple,” an event promoting healthy eating and celebrating the diverse flavors and cultures of New York City. The event will be hosted by the Office for Family Engagement and Advocacy, in partnership with the Office of School Food, Red Jacket Orchards, Cornell University and others. Please also feel free to attend the event or send someone from your newspaper.
We will have cooking demonstrations of healthy recipes, there will be apples as well as a variety of other fresh produce to sample and bring home. Students can participate in a raffle, which will include a variety of prizes, from passes to the American Museum of Natural History to an Apple computer!
The event will be held on Tuesday November 10, 2009 at the High School for Food and Finance, located at 252 West 50th Street, in Manhattan. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and the event runs until 7:00 p.m.
