Jazz & Tapas at the Iridium at Postal code 10069, US

Meet for a tapas dinner and drinks at the Iridium, while listening to the smooth jazz, with a Latin flair, of Eddie Palmieri & Bryan Lynch. About the Eddie Palmieri/Bryan Lynch Quartet A prominent voice in Jazz and Afro-Caribbean music for two decades as a player and composer, trumpeter Brian Lynch releases his masterwork to date on Simpatico, an effervescent collaboration with Latin icon and piano innovator Eddie Palmieri. Matching him is an all-star cast, primarily long-time Lynch and Palmieri associates, who execute immaculately and solo at grand heights of instrumental derring-do. Propelling them are extraordinary rhythm sections with such world class Latin and Cuban drummers as trapsetters Dafnis Prieto and Robby Ameen, congueros Giovanni Hidalgo and Pedro Martinez, and percussionists Pete Rodriguez, Little Johnny Rivero, and Marvin Diz, and bassists Boris Kozlov, Ruben Rodriguez, and Luques Curtis. The brass and reed playersÂÂ-Woods, Donald Harrison, Gregory Tardy, Conrad Herwig, Mario Rivera, and Yosvany TerryÂÂ-all navigate both genres proficiently, as do pianist-organist Edsel Gomez, a regular with David Sanchez and Don Byron and a Palmieri disciple, and guitar virtuoso Adam Rogers. Information Tickets are $41 (including service charges) on sale here (TicketWeb). Meet-up RSVP closes on March 11 to ensure that I can get everyone's names to the manager & get a table for the group. The show starts at 8:30, but admission is only guaranteed until 8:15PM, so we'll meet up at the club at 8:00.
