Join ICP Triennial artist Wangechi Mutu and ICP Associate Curator Kristen Lubben for a discussion of her work.

Wangechi Mutu, artist. Mutu was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and now lives and works in New York. Her work has been exhibited internationally at galleries and museums including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Miami Art Museum, Tate Modern, the Studio Museum in Harlem, Kunstpalast Dusseldorf, and the Centre Pompidou. Mutu participated in the 2004 Gwangju Biennale. Her work has been featured in several major exhibitions including Greater New York at the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center and the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Black President at the Barbican in London; and USA Today at the Royal Academy in London.

Kristen Lubben, ICP Associate Curator, has been a member of the curatorial staff since 1998. In that time, she has organized such exhibitions as Gerda Taro; Francesc Torres: Dark Is the Room Where We Sleep; Amelia Earhart: Image and Icon; El Salvador: Work of Thirty Photographers; Time of Change: Bruce Davidson, Civil Rights Photographs, 1961–65; and the 2008 exhibition Susan Meiselas: In History.
