The Big Easy Film Festivals are the sister fests to the Beverly Hills Shorts Festival. With over 12,000 short films and 5000 feature films made every year, filmmakers need venues to reach an audience... And there is no better audience than New Orleans.
Whats our connection to New Orleans Our Festival Co-Director Laura Raitman Martone was born and raised in New Orleans... Katrina took her Fathers house, her Mothers house, and her Grandmothers house. We started the Big Easy Shorts Festival to give something back to the city that she loves so much... were giving the city some of the best films in the world... and were devoting our resources to help New Orleans and rest of the Gulf Coast protect itself against future acts of nature while supporting indie film in the region.

The Big Easy Film Festivals will be running both the Big Easy Shorts Festival (now in its 3rd year) and the Big Easy International Film Festival, which will focus solely on feature films while the Shorts Festival will continue to focus on short films.
By expanding to two venues, we can show New Orleans the best of both worlds
