Instead of worship, we are using this Sunday for education. One of the greatest things about being Johannites, is the fact that we are Johannites but not many people know what that means. The AJC Statement of Principles gives a simple introduction to our heritage and spiritual approach and therefore I believe it to be important to understand them in depth. The Statement of Principles can be found in the files section of our meetup page or on the Johannite website at http://johannite.org/sop.html. I plan to cover all nine statement in four different weeks and this week we will be discussing statement #1 and statement number #4. The statements are listed below. #3: We affirm that there are many ways in which Gnosis may be experienced. Thus, we promote freedom of thought in pursuit of one's inward Path towards the Divine, whether that pursuit is modern or ancient in origin, or individual or communal in experience. #5: We affirm that God guides us towards Unity by the loving example of the Incarnate Xristos, manifested in the life of Jesus, and the ongoing experience of the Holy Spirit as the source of continued Inspiration and Revelation via Gnosis.
