Mark Twain: An American Original on display in Special Collections at Vanderbilt University
Contact: Kathy Smith
An exhibit about Mark Twain, his life and works. Using original materials from the Special Collections Library, the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum, and San Diego State University Special Collections and University Archives.
See first editions of his books, letters and photos of the man who was a true American Original. Vanderbilt Libraries are remembering one of America's most beloved writers with the exhibit "Mark Twain: An American Original." The exhibit is free and part of Twain and Twang, Nashville's citywide celebration to pay tribute to Twain.
Vanderbilt's Twain collection was donated by the late Dr. Marc H. Hollender, a Vanderbilt psychiatrist and professor. The current exhibit also includes memorabilia from the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum and items from Special Collections at San Diego State University. The exhibit will travel to San Diego State this summer for a 19-week run.
Exhibit runs through June 30, 2010
