Ben Folds Five began as an alternative rock trio from North Carolina in 1993, quickly gaining huge success in the alternative, indie, and pop music scenes. The band is most noted for the hit single “Brick” from the 1997 album “Whatever and Ever Amen.” Unfortunately, the group disbanded in October of 2000 under amicable circumstances. However, in the summer of 2011, the original members of Ben Folds Five (Ben Folds, Darren Jessee, Robert Sledge) got back together to record three new songs for a career retrospective 3-CD set released in October of last year. The group enjoyed recording together again so much that they decided to record a full new album at Ben’s Nashville studio earlier this year. On June 28, 2012, Ben announced at a performance that the record was finished. This fall, the original Ben Folds Five will embark on a worldwide tour for the first time since the summer of 2000.
