Saturday, August 8 -- Sunset: 7:45pm -- features W.W. AND THE DIXIE DANCEKINGS. In the Nashville 99 tradition of drive-ins past, our local-color offering of this year is not to be found on home video. In this first teaming of Burt Reynolds and Jerry Reed (pre-Smokey and the Bandit), Burt plays W.W. Bright, an ex-S.O.S. gas station employee who goes around robbing his old employers. W.W. (Reynolds), pretending to be a Nashville music agent, gets tangled in lies & cons with up-and-coming band the Dixie Dancekings, a self-righteous honky-tonk-hater (Art Carney), and the likes of Don Williams, Mel Tillis, Roni Stoneman, Brad Dourif (!?) and Tootsie, the queen of the Orchid Lounge. 1975, Color
