Description
This paddle is the second of a series of "Monet Paddles" on the Piney. Here's how a Monet paddle works... we do a series of paddles on the same river at quarterly intervals during the year - end of January, April, July and October. Pick a spot on the river to photograph and at each subsequent paddle, take a picture of your spot. It's pretty cool to capture one spot on the river going through four seasons. We'll create a special album just for these photos this time next year. (In January we may have putz with according to the weather.) If you didn't make the first Monet paddle, that's OK. I think we won't have to work too hard to talk ourselves into doing the Piney in October. We'll meet at the Shell gas station at the intersection of Hwys 40 and 48. This is at Exit 163 on Hwy. 40. Get off on Exit 163, turn left on Hwy 48 to the Shell Gas Station. Meet at 10 a.m. From there we'll convoy to the put in. Seven mile shuttle paddle. This stretch of the Piney has incredible rock formations. It's paddle #22 in the book, "Paddling Around Nashville." Bring lunch, drinks, hat, sunscreen. The take out is at Nunnelly Bridge. We'll bring rope to pull our boats up the hill or those with 4 wheel drive can get their boat at river edge. Leslie's cell: 681-3620
