Description
Laura Lake Smith, Professor of Art History at David Lipscomb University, takes a closer look at twentieth century American art and what motivated artists to turn to American popular culture for inspiration. Discussing artists whose work is in the exhibition “From Washington to Warhol: Americana Redefined” as well as others, Smith will present an overview of the fascinating relationship that American artists have had with all things American. After the lecture, join Cheekwood’s Curator of Art for a tour of the exhibition.
