Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum 2010 Exhibit: 'FROM FOLK ART TO FINE ART"

Open May 28th through October 9th
Tuesday—Saturday, 10:00am—4:00pm
Each year the Nantucket Basket Museum presents a new exhibit that is creative and captures the rich history of basket making. The 2010 exhibit will focus on the evolution of the craft from the sturdy work baskets and utilitarian nests made in solitude on the Lightships to the creations of the 21st century that are adorned with carved ivory and the intricate detail of scrimshaw.
