Description
Bach's great "St John Passion" will be performed by the ensemble Arcis-Vocalisten in Munich.
Johann Sebastian Bach's famous oratorio was first performed in Leipzig at the Good Friday vespers in 1724. The text is drawn from the biblical Gospel of St John and describes the suffering and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Bach composed a choral masterwork, with chorales and solo arias that bring the moving story to life.
Hear this breath-taking work performed in the Allerheiligen Hofkirche of the Munich Residence on the day before Easter.
