PARA VAYU, a new form that evolved from the rock band VAYU which has acclaimed popularity since 1997, has been founded by Ravi Iyer. After the release of VAYU’s album titled ‘WINGS OF A DREAM’, in June 2009, Ravi Iyer and Crosby Fernandes reformed VAYU to PARA VAYU along with the band’s singer and song writer Fay, thus exploring a wide range in various genres of music
Ravi Iyer has been actively involved in the rock circuit since 1985. Since then, strong influences in metal, classic rock, blues, pop, jazz rock and even Hindustani classical music, initiated him to explore them in the music of PARA VAYU.
Peace is the message through which the members of PARA VAYU communicate their new set of original music with one and all. Music that is free from thought, judgement and influence. Its a moment when it all happens and that moment is NOW!
Members of PARA VAYU, have over the years drawn inspiration from legendary bands and artistes like Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Alice in Chains, Blind Melon, Porcupine Tree, The Cranberries, or solo artists like Eric Johnson, George Benson, Dr. L. Subramaniam, Gary Moore, Tracy Chapman, Rufus Wainwright, Alanis Morisette, Norah Jones and Sting to name a few.
PARA VAYU’s music and compositions have influences of Funk, Blues, Jazz Rock, Alternative, Classic Rock, Hindustani Classical Music .
