Alex Brooks, owner of the Alex Brooks Canine Center in Des Plaines, will share his secrets for dealing with a variety of behavior-related issues, including how to train an aggressive, timid, or overactive dog; teaching basic commands; ending excessive barking; leash training; tips for purchasing a dog; the differences between pet shops, private breeders, and shelter dogs; understanding your dogs body language; and how to introduce a new dog into the home or to an existing dog. Brooks will explain how to communicate with your dog in its natural language and how to fulfill your dogs instinctive need for leadership. This seminar will be followed by a question and answer session. Participation in this program is for the two-legged members of your family.
Alex Brooks is a regular columnist for a major newspaper and a frequent guest on Comcast Cable TVs Contempo show. He has trained dogs for famous athletes, including Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, as well as the K-9 units of several police departments. In his spare time, Brooks volunteers his expertise to animal shelters by training stray and abandoned dogs to become more adoptable. He also trains dogs to help the physically challenged gain improved freedom, independence, and quality of life.
This program is for pet owners. Please leave your dogs at home.
