Anger is a destructive mind, and it solves nothing. But unfortunately, anger is a common negative mind that everyone experiences to some degree nearly every day. The opposite of anger is patience. Far from being a passive, weak mind, patience is a powerful mind that protects both us and others from the negative force of anger. By first learning how to recognize anger, and then learning how to practice progressively deeper levels of patience, we can overcome this internal enemy and gain a stable inner peace and relaxation. Kelsang Nyema will guide each class in the series. An American Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Ganden Buddhist Center, Nyema makes Buddha's time-tested teachings on anger practical for everyone. Each class includes a guided meditation, short teaching, and time for discussion. No previous experience necessary. You do not need to attend each class; drop in anytime. The topic for this week's class is "What is Patience?" $10 or $5 students/seniors * No one turned away for lack of funds.[/b] For more information about this class series, please click here.
