Below are two important notes about the application process. Thank you for your patience with these limitations of the website, and we sincerely look forward to welcoming you to the Class of 2009!
1. To View the ApplicationThe site will redirect you to the Leadership Mountain View application only after you've paid the application fee.
2. Ten-Minute Time-Out on ApplicationThe application site times out after 10 minutes. We recommend that you complete the information for the application off-line, using the questions provied below, and then cut and paste the information into the web form.
Program Information
Leadership Mountain View (LMV) is an intensive public affairs/leadership/development program designed to equip the communitys civic leadership for effective service. LMV consists of nine monthly day-long seminars, running September through May. Each seminar covers a different Community Theme and Leadership Theme. LMV may include some evening and weekend meetings, and participants also complete a 10-hour community leadership project of their choosing. Candidacy is open to all individuals eighteen years and older regardless of race, creed, sex, disability, philosophy, or employment status. To be eligible, applicants must have an interest in Mountain View and its surrounding communities, be residents of Mountain View, be employed in Mountain View, be representatives of Mountain View based businesses or organizations, OR otherwise interested in the Mountain View community. Applicants in final consideration will be personally interviewed.
Application Fee: There is a $30 non-refundable application fee due at the time of application. If you are accepted into LMV, a portion of your registration fee is applied to your tuition. The cost of the class is $1750.
***Note: Enrollment for the LMV Class of 2009 opens March 15, 2008. Completed applications and one letter of recommendation must be received by August 2008. Letters of recommendation should be emailed to Jennifer Stokely, Interim Director, at interimdirector@chambermv.org
Application Questions Include:
1) How long have you lived/worked in Mountain View? (If you do not live or work in Mountain View, please indicate your interest in being involved in the Mountain View community.)
2) EMPLOYMENT. Briefly describe your responsibilities at work.
3) EDUCATION. List schools or colleges attended and certificates or degrees completed.
4) COMMUNITY/VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES. List civic, professional, social, and other organizations in which you have participated. Include organization name, location, dates, your position, and responsibilities/ accomplishments.
5) LEADERSHIP. What positions of leadership have you held in your community activities and/or career?
6) Describe the most significant community leadership activity in which you have been involved-your role in the activity and what you learned from the experience.
7) What are the areas of particular interest for involvement in the Mountain View community?
8) What do you hope to gain from participation in the Leadership Mountain View program?
9) How did you hear about Leadership Mountain View?
