    The Charles Babbage Engine arrived 5-1-08. This is a must see. Five tons, 7x11 feet. As much a work of art as a machine. The exhibit closes in the spring of 2009. T

Description
Charles Babbage is regarded as the first computer pioneer. He invented computers yet failed to build them. For over 150 years the designs for his vast machines remained an historical curiosity. But his Difference Engine No. 2, dating from 1849, has now been built. Come and experience an extraordinary object, rich in history, in full operation, starting this September at the Computer History Museum.
