Swim Lessons - Level 6-PWS + Diving | Mountain Home, ID ...

The swimming lessons offered by Mountain Home Parks and Recreation are certified American Red Cross swim lessons. The main purpose of these lessons is to teach children and young adults safety in, on and around the water. Children will also learn proper swim technique; in order to pass each level the student must perform to the standard objective set by the Red Cross. If you have any questions during the course please ask your child's instructor. Level 6 Diving- While this class primarily focuses on diving, the students must also be able to swim 100 yards of front and backstroke, and 50 yards of other strokes, all of which turns must be used. With diving students will learn how to do kneeling, compact, and standing from the poolside, and learn how to do standing, tuck, and pike dives from the board. To pass this course students have to demonstrate their ability to swim and their ability to do a two-part entry, feet first and head first from the board. Students within the course must perform proficiently to the standard set by the American Red Cross.
