Walking Event:

Ask for start box at the Customer Service counter (it may be in the room behind). They are open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Restrooms are to your left in front of the check out counters past Starbucks. Restrooms may be available at the turnaround points on the New Santa Fe Trail. Restrooms are NOT available on the Mt Herman Trail. The routes provide excellent views of Monument Valley and the Rampart Range. The New Santa Fe Trail is rated 1+". There are three alternate trails, all out and back. The New Santa Fe trail is not particularly suited for small wheeled strollers because of the gravel surface. The Mt Herman Trail is rated 3". It is a dirt trail, often narrow that makes it extremely difficult for strollers. Jogging strollers will work, but some trail areas are narrower than the wheels and have tree roots and rocks. Please consider the fire danger before smoking. Pets must be leashed and cleaned up after. This is a combination walking, biking and horse trail. Carrying water and sunscreen is recommended. Water and restrooms available at the Safeway Start/Finish. Please allow 2+ hours to enjoy the walk. Walk elevation is 6961 feet above sea level with some elevation changes. If you live at a lower altitude our events will seem more difficult.
