As the largest convention center in the upper midwest, the Minneapolis Convention Center schedules dozens of conventions and expos each month. Because of the center's size, it contains over 80 meeting rooms and is often used for the larger, national conventions like the Railway Interchange. Not only is the size of the Minneapolis Convention Center appealing, but the building's architectural design and layout is aesthetically pleasing as well, providing not only a functional convention center, but a fashionable one as well.

The Minneapolis Convention Center has a rich history serving the people of Minnesota, having been in existence since 1886. The Minneapolis Auditorium inside the convention center was home to the Minneapolis Lakers from 1947 until they moved to Los Angeles in 1960. It might be hard to believe that a convention center could host basketball games, but it was made possible -- not only by the center's length -- but by the large domed roofs that now hosts tall structures for conventions.
