Description
Voices Merging is a non profit student organization (also known as student based coalition) created in 2002 to educate and inform students about the urban arts. We host open mics on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month, hold workshops to exercise creativity and emotion through words, in addition to several other events and we work hard to build a supportive and cohesive community of writers. If you haven't heard of us or been to our open mics, get ready. You definitely want to be a part of the moves we are making this year. What Happens at the Open Mic? VM Open Mics feature NOT ONLY poetry, but rap, dance, song, monologues, speeches, and visual art as well. Everything is welcome and everyone is supported whether you are a virgin on the mic or an experienced writer. We also have games and activities for the crowd to participate in for prizes throughout the night. You don't have to perform to come, but if you do want to get on the mic, come ON TIME. It's completely FREE and open to the public. INVITE EVERYONE YOU KNOW! YOU DON"T WANNA MISS IT! Don't be late! Sign-up starts @ 7:30PM! The sign-up list fills up FAST! Everyone gets 5 minutes only...
