Description
The key role of any human resource department is to ensure that human talent is effectively and efficiently used to accomplish organizational goals. The traditional HR functions of providing advice, service, and control to other areas of the organization have expanded and taken on a more global, strategic character. By better understanding the role of human resource professionals, your ability to accomplish your own goals and those of your unit or department will be enhanced.
Following this course you will be able to:
- Recognize the role that HR plays in strategic planning and management
- Understand the broader scope of workforce planning and employment
- Be aware of the various ways to develop talent and manage performance
- Describe a total rewards system that includes cash and non-cash compensation and benefits
- Understand the need for providing a safe and secure working environment while protecting the organization from liability
- Recognize the responsibility to balance employer and employee needs and rights
