Description
From the funny and theatrical to the intense and lyrical, this concert highlights the virtuosity of the Present Music ensemble. In David Ives' sound text play, "Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread", the composer visits a bakery and ponders the nature of time. Eric Segnitz, Karl Lavine, Greg Flint, Bill Helmers and Phillip Bush perform works by Arvo Part, Charles Wuorinen, Saed Haddad and Thomas Adès, and in PM's continuing homage to the late Henry Brant, Kevin Stalheim plays the tin whistle in a piece about the Marx Brothers. Chamber music never sounded so fun!
