What to do about a disastrous economy, a U.S. foreign policy that holds no one at the top accountable and a spineless Democratic Party? And will progressives taking matters in their own hands provoke the same old repression and infiltation? Even murder?
Playwrights' Lab presents the first public reading of The Big D by former San Francisco Chronicle theater critic Bernard Weiner, with audience discussion to follow. A cast of Bay Area favorites includes Victor Ballesteros, Michael Keys Hall, Lorri Holt, David Kudler and Michael Gene Sullivan. Hal Gelb directs.
Playwrights' Lab is the new play development program of 142 Throckmorton Theatre. The Lab offers readings of full-length plays by Lab members six times a year as well as the Writers with Attitude festival in February and special programs with students.
